STYLE

Ann Demeulemeester heavy sole pump

I'm a fan of the Belgian Ann Demeulemeester. 

Her style is not  elegant, 

but sturdy 

and 

oddly balanced, 

I think. 

She is too outspoken and un-sexy 

to have a big admiring public, 

bit I'm one of her admirers!

I like the contradiction
 between 
the heavy sole and the fragile upper here.

She's true to her own style, 
her designs have a very strong personal handwriting

 which I admire, and always recognise. 

This has nothing to do with the deadly maelstrom of fashion,
 this is style.

 A beautiful shoe that, in my opinion, 
will still be a feast to wear
 ten years from now!

PLASTICA

burberry prorsum

This summer is the summer of soft pastels 
in the world of the famous (and expensive) designers. 

I expect to see more of these colours in summer 2015 
when they will hit the commercial markets. 

I also detect a lot of synthetic 'plastic' materials, 

as we see here in this strappy sandal by Burberry Prorsum. 

I love the matte and slightly see-hrough effect!
